ID Released For Woman Killed After Being Struck By Car Crossing Busy Long Island Intersection

The identity has been released for a woman who was killed after she was hit by a car crossing a busy intersection on Long Island.

The crash happened just after 7 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 25 in Hempstead, Nassau County Police said.

According to detectives, the female pedestrian, now identified as 55-year-old Corline Cameau of Hempstead, was crossing Peninsula Boulevard from east to west at the intersection of West Graham Avenue when she was struck by a 2018 Kia Stinger operated by a 25-year-old man.

Cameau was transported to Mercy Hospital and pronounced dead at 7:37 a.m. by emergency room physicians.

The investigation is ongoing.
